Penetrative Genital Pain in Transgender Men Using Testosterone: A Survey Study
Published as a Research Letter in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and awarded Best Presentation at the ISSVD World Congress in Italy, this study explores the prevalence and impact of genital pain among transgender men undergoing testosterone therapy. Through a community-based survey, it highlights how genital sensitivity and pain—especially during intimacy or medical exams—can significantly affect both healthcare access and sexual well-being. The findings emphasize the urgent need for informed, affirming care practices and further research into long-term outcomes of hormone therapy.
